NHL’s Ducks sign partner for anniversary season

NHL ice hockey franchise the Anaheim Ducks has partnered with UCI Health ahead of its 25th anniversary season in 2018-19.

UCI Health will serve as the club’s first-ever season presenting sponsor, with the deal to run for three years. UCI Health will also serve as the official hospital partner of the Ducks.

A new joint logo will be showcased during the Ducks’ anniversary season as part of the agreement. The logo will be incorporated into the Ducks’ market branding, social media channels, website and throughout the community.

UCI Health will also benefit from in-arena signage and promotions, outdoor signage, digital integration and specific game-night takeovers, along with exposure during television and radio broadcasts of Ducks games.

Additionally, UCI Health will participate in community initiatives and have brand presence at The Rinks facilities, while it will engage hospital staff and patients through activities with its Street Team, Power Players and mascot, Wild Wing.

UCI Health comprises the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine. University Chancellor, Howard Gillman, said: “From its founding more than a half-century ago, UCI has been an anchoring institution for Orange County, making strong regional connections that benefit the community and serve the people.

“This novel partnership exemplifies this anchoring role. Working together, UCI Health and the Anaheim Ducks will bring access to the finest in healthcare delivery to a new and larger audience.”

UCI Health chief executive Richard Gannotta said that no public funds would be used to support the partnership.
