NFL renews with digital delivery partner RR Media

The North American NFL American football league has renewed a partnership with digital media service provider RR Media.

The extended deal will run for three seasons, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.

RR Media will support digital delivery of live and non-live coverage, including highlights and magazine programming, into Asia, Europe and, for the first time under the new deal, Latin America.

It will deliver the NFL pre-season, regular-season and play-off games, culminating in the Super Bowl championship game. RR Media will also manage NFL content and other media assets for later use in video highlights packages.

The company’s network covers high-definition satellite, fibre and internet delivery. RR Media will deliver between eight and 12 games per week and has the capability to distribute up to nine games simultaneously, as well as the capacity to extend to additional games simultaneously as required by the NFL.
