Cricket South Africa’s yet-to-be finalised T20 league will be shown by South African public-service broadcaster SABC for the next three years.
SABC will hold exclusive rights to the league across sub-Saharan Africa, meaning pay-television broadcaster SuperSport will not show any live matches.
Back in June, CSA and SuperSport were set to become partners in a joint venture that wholly owned the T20 league and its teams. This joint venture fell apart in July as SuperSport was unhappy with CSA’s demands.
The new T20 competition is scheduled to begin on November 9. The competition has no name, sponsors, team names or confirmed players, but it does have a broadcaster – something the T20 Global League never managed to attract.
