NBA extends American Express partnership

North American basketball league the NBA has renewed its partnership with financial services company American Express.

The company will continue to serve as the official card of the NBA, the women’s WNBA league and the NBA G-League development competition as part of the new multi-year deal.

Under the agreement, American Express customers will benefit from exclusive experiences and access at events such as the NBA All-Star Game and the NBA Draft.

To mark the partnership, the NBA and American Express hosted a draft-themed ‘Teamed Up’ event in New York to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the NBA Draft. NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal and Alonzo Mourning, who were both drafted in 1992, were present at the event.

American Express will continue to provide card members with NBA benefits such as customised hospitality programs and ticket offers around the All-Star Game and the Draft, as well as league-themed hospitality events and behind-the-scenes access through team partnerships.
