The NBA basketball league’s new esports competition, the NBA 2K League, has agreed partnerships with US technology companies Dell and Intel.
The multi-year agreements ensure that the league, which is set to debut next month, will be played on PC.
Dell will serve as the league’s official PC hardware and monitor partner, with its Alienware gaming brand to be incorporated throughout the new NBA 2K League Studio alongside players in their team training facilities.
Alienware will be the presenting partner of the NBA 2K League Draft Clash, a tournament on April 6 featuring 10 of the top picks from the inaugural NBA 2K League Draft, which takes place today (Wednesday). It will also be the presenting partner of the NBA 2K League Halftime Show.
Intel has been named as the presenting partner of the NBA 2K League Studio, where Intel Core and Intel Xeon processors will provide the technology infrastructure for the league’s matches.
Dell and Intel will deliver end-to-end solutions for the NBA 2K League, whose matches will be played on Alienware PCs powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i708700K Processor accompanied by Alienware’s 25-inch 240 Hz gaming monitors.
Alienware’s PC hardware and Intel’s gaming processors will be used during all live gameplay including weekly matchups, three in-season tournaments, playoffs and the NBA 2K League Finals.

“The combination of Alienware and Intel will advance the elite gaming experience and we are thrilled to incorporate two of the top products and brands throughout the NBA 2K League during our inaugural season, and beyond.”
Seventeen NBA teams are set to compete in the new league: Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards.
Dell’s technology has been selected by 16 of the 17 teams participating in the new season, with the exception being the Golden State Warriors. The teams’ practice facilities will be equipped with Alienware PC hardware as part of the deal.
