National Lacrosse League adds to streaming partnerships with Facebook deal

North America’s National Lacrosse League has agreed a streaming-rights partnership with social media platform Facebook.

As part of the agreement, NLL Productions’ ReLax programme will be shown on the Facebook Watch video platform, which launched last August.

The new show will feature insights, reactions and analysis of weekend games. It will air exclusively on Facebook Watch on Mondays at 6pm ET.

The partnership further establishes the NLL’s online presence. Last year, the league signed a two-year streaming partnership with social media platform Twitter covering the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Twitter distributes a free live broadcast of an NLL Game of the Week, as well as playoff and Champion’s Cup games and league-wide highlights.

The NLL also has agreements in place with over-the-top provider Xumo, which provides smart television owners with free access to recorded games and highlights, and the CBS Sports Digital division of US network CBS, which streams live and on-demand coverage of the competition.
