Mumbai Indians land new shirt sponsor

Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket franchise the Mumbai Indians has signed a shirt sponsorship deal with online travel company Goibibo.

The one-year deal names Goibibo as a principal sponsor of the Indians for the 2018 IPL season, which gets underway on April 4.

Goibibo’s branding will feature on the back of the team’s shirts as part of the agreement.

Saujanya Shrivastava, chief marketing officer of MakeMyTrip Group, Goibibo’s parent company, said, according to the IndianTelevision website: “The association with Mumbai Indians presents a consumer-focused brand like ours a unique opportunity to deepen our engagement with customers in a truly innovative manner.

“With the high travel summer season around the corner, we believe that our participation at IPL through both TV broadcast and Mumbai Indians team sponsorship will help us connect with audiences across the length and breadth of the country and provide them compelling reasons to book hotels on the Goibibo app.”
