Concacaf president and Fifa vice-president Victor Montagliani is to bring his depth of expertise and lifelong passion for soccer to the inaugural SportBusiness Summit in Miami on September 18 and 19.

Montagliani (pictured) joins LaLiga president Javier Tebas and Bundesliga International CEO Robert Klein  to give the Summit a real depth of insight into the business behind the world’s most popular sport.

Montagliani’s passion for the game has led him to become a leader within the sport. Montagliani was elected Concacaf president and Fifa vice-president in May 2016 at Concacaf’s XXXI Ordinary Congress held in Mexico City, Mexico. He also serves as chairman of the Fifa Football Stakeholders Committee.

Montagliani served as president of the Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) until May 2017. In addition to his vast knowledge and experience within the game, Montagliani has concluded studies in political science, public administration, French and Spanish.

Other speakers confirmed to date include: Philadelphia 76ers COO Lara Price, Keith Bruce of QuintEvents International, leading sports lawyer Charles Baker, financier Rick Perna and Angela Ruggiero, CEO and co-founder of Sports Innovation Lab.

SportBusiness Summit will bring together leaders of sport from around the world to discuss key issues impacting the development of the sector in the USA and globally. The invitation-only event will fuse SportBusiness’ data and analysis with the unique opinion, assessment and overview of key decision makers and opinion formers from leading international and US sports leagues, clubs, agencies, brands, technology leaders and media organisations.

Subject strands on the agenda include new business opportunities in soccer, trends in global media rights, sponsorship, understanding the global fan base, opportunities and challenges arising from new US sports betting legislation and the strategies of the tech companies shaping the future of sport.
