MLB’s Phillies sign grocery partner

Major League Baseball team the Philadelphia Phillies has entered into a multi-year partnership with the Giant Food Stores chain of retail outlets.

The deal names Giant as the official grocer of the Phillies and grants the chain brand exposure at the team’s Citizens Bank Park stadium.

As part of the deal, Giant will participate in Phans Feeding Families, the Phillies’ summer hunger relief program held in conjunction with hunger-relief agency Philabundance.

Giant will also sponsor the youth-focused Phillies Phitness program and support Phillies Week of Giving, through which it will work with the club to provide turkeys as part of cooked meals for the homeless at the Bethesda Project.

Additionally, Giant will sponsor the Phillies’ Phanatic MVP Kids Club, a fan club for supporters aged 14 and under. In-store promotions will also be launched.
