MLB’s Angels land Japanese partner after Ohtani signing

Japanese consumer electronics company Funai Electric Co. has entered into a partnership with Major League Baseball franchise the Los Angeles Angels.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it was confirmed that the firm will become the exclusive advertiser on the team’s media backdrop.

Funai will also benefit from advertising on the home plate rotational sign at the team’s Angel Stadium home ballpark and the Temple Diablo Stadium spring training venue.

The deal comes after the Angels recently completed the signing of Japanese star Shohei Ohtani (pictured). The pitcher and outfielder joined the team in December and took part in his first training earlier session this week.
