NFL American football franchise the Minnesota Vikings has expanded its partnership with local health network Twin Cities Orthopaedics to support the construction of its new practice facility and team headquarters.
Scheduled to open in March 2018, the 40-acre site will include a host of facilities, such as a 6,000-capacity outdoor stadium, training and practice areas, media and press facilities, an expanded locker room, as well as specialised medical and health facilities.
Under the expanded 20-year partnership, the facilities will be named the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center and TCO Stadium.
TCO will also work with the franchise to develop an 88,000-square-foot orthopaedics centre at the site. The medical facility, as well as other amenities at the campus, will be made available to youth, high school and amateur athletics, as well as other community events.
The practice facility will form the centrepiece of a total 200-acre development that will transpire over the next 15 years. The orthopaedics centre is the first facility to have been officially announced for the project.
TCO has been in partnership with the franchise for a number of years and has worked with the team on initiatives such as the TCO Vikings 5K race. TCO also serves as the team’s official orthopaedic partner.
