Manchester City extends Vivo Energy ties to Botswana

Reigning English Premier League champion Manchester City has agreed a partnership with African energy company Vivo Energy for the Botswanan market.

Under the deal, the terms for which were not disclosed, Vivo Energy becomes City’s official fuels and lubricants partner in Botswana.

It follows a similar agreement between Manchester City and Vivo Energy in the Ivory Coast, unveiled at the end of 2014. Ivory Coast national team captain Yaya Toure (pictured) is one of City’s star players.

As under the Ivory Coast partnership, consumers in Botswana will be able to benefit from Manchester City themed prize giveaways including VIP trips to home matches at the Etihad Stadium. Vivo Energy, which distributes and markets products branded by fuel and lubricants giant Shell in Africa, will run its initial Manchester City promotion until the end of May.

Vivo Energy’s tie-up with Manchester City was brokered by the club’s in-house marketing agency City Football Marketing.
