LPGA extends with event sponsors

The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) has extended deals with sponsors of two of its major events.

Canadian Pacific, a transcontinental railway in North America, has extended its title sponsorship of the LPGA Women’s Open for three years, from 2016 to 2018.

The event will continue to be known as the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open, with the company also increasing its charitable support through an ongoing initiative run in partnership with the tournament.

Canadian Pacific has also linked up with Golf Canada to support the national governing body’s ‘Team Canada’ national amateur team programme as well as the National Women’s Open Golf Championship.

Meanwhile, US refining, marketing and transportation company Marathon Petroleum has extended its title sponsorship of the LPGA Marathon Classic in a three-year deal, from 2016 to 2018.

In addition, US glass companies Owens Corning and O-I have signed extended deals with the LPGA to continue serving as presenting sponsors of the event until 2018.
