Leicester maintains Thai connection with sleeve sponsor signing

Siam Commercial Bank, one of the largest banks in Thailand, has been unveiled as the first official sleeve sponsor of English Premier League football club Leicester City.

The deal will run for the duration of the 2017-18 campaign.

As part of the partnership, the bank will receive branding exposure throughout the club’s King Power Stadium, across interview backdrops and digital advertising boards.

The owners of Leicester, which won the Premier League in the 2015-16 season, are from Thailand.

“Over the last seven years, we have built a series of partnerships with blue chip companies in Thailand and East Asia that have truly strengthened the bond between the club and the region,” Leicester vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said.

“The opportunities for development are very exciting. The people of Thailand have become extremely proud of Leicester City and – with SCB joining King Power and our other valued Thai partners – Leicester City is very proud of its growing relevance to the Kingdom of Thailand.”

Premier League club and league representatives agreed to allow sleeve badge sponsors starting from the 2017-18 season in November 2016. The sponsor logos will be a maximum size of 10cm x 10cm. The Premier League badge will remain on the other sleeve of the shirts.
