LaLiga TV, the official television channel of the top division of Spanish football, has acquired rights to Liga LEB Oro, the second tier of domestic club basketball.
The Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) has agreed a five-season deal with LaLiga that will run from the forthcoming 2018-19 campaign through to 2022-23.
LaLiga TV will provide a showcase for at least two games per round of fixtures, while the FEB will be allowed to continue to search for additional rights partners.
FEB president Jorge Garbajosa said: “It is a dream to associate ourselves with a brand like LaLiga. We have been working for a long time to give value to the Liga LEB Oro and with the signing of this agreement we will take a step forward in the growth of our league.”
The agreement will commence with LaLiga TV broadcasting three games tomorrow (Saturday), starting with the meeting between Liberbank Oviedo and RETAbet Bilbao Basket at 5pm local time.
