African online sports betting company SportPesa has agreed a regional partnership with LaLiga, which operates the top two divisions of Spanish football.
Under the deal, which will run initially for three years, SportPesa will serve as the official African betting partner of LaLiga.
The two parties will work together to help LaLiga expand its presence in Africa and connect with fans across the continent.
LaLiga is already active in Africa and has offices in Johannesburg, South Africa, as well as Abuja in Nigeria.
Adolfo Bara, commercial and marketing general manager for LaLiga, said: “This is a very important agreement for LaLiga, as this further solidifies our commitment to the African continent. It is paramount for LaLiga to constantly get closer to its fans all over the world and we're sure that this new partnership will contribute towards that.”
SportPesa has established a presence in the professional football market through existing partnerships with English Premier League clubs Arsenal, Hull City and Southampton.
