Ladbrokes extends as SPFL’s main sponsor

Betting company Ladbrokes has extended its title sponsorship agreement with the Scottish Professional Football League.

The new one-year deal will cover the 2017-18 season. Ladbrokes will retain naming rights to the top-tier Scottish Premiership, as well as the Championship, League One and League Two.

Ladbrokes agreed a deal to become the SPFL’s main sponsor in May 2015. The two-year contract had been due to expire at the end of the current season.

“When we announced our sponsorship in 2015 we made a clear commitment to invest in the very heart of Scottish football,” Ladbrokes Coral chief executive Jim Mullen said, according to The Scotsman newspaper.

“We are passionate about the game and our love of football has helped to make the past two seasons hugely rewarding. Our customers and colleagues know that Ladbrokes and Scottish football make great partners and we are proud to extend our partnership with the SPFL.”

The SPFL had been without a title sponsor for two years before it partnered with Ladbrokes, with its association with Clydesdale Bank having ended in 2013.
