Klein to succeed Daubitzer as Bundesliga International chief

Robert Klein will succeed Jörg Daubitzer as the chief executive of the Bundesliga International division of the German football league (DFL) on January 1.

Bundesliga International is responsible for international rights sales for the top-tier Bundesliga and second-tier 2.Bundesliga, as well as sponsorship and licensing deals.

Klein has been chief commercial officer of Bundesliga International since May.

Daubitzer (pictured) is stepping down “at his own request” after having steered international rights sales for the Bundesliga since 2005.

In 2008, he was appointed to the management board of DFL’s marketing subsidiary, DFL Sports Enterprises.

He also initiated the establishment of Bundesliga International, which was incorporated four months ago.
