Korean automotive manufacturer Kia Motors has agreed to become the presenting sponsor of the International Basketball Federation’s (Fiba) 2015 Asia Championship and Asia Women’s Championship.
Both tournaments will take place in China, with the Asia Championship in Changsha from September 23 to October 3 preceded by the women’s event in Wuhan from August 29 to September 5.
Kia will have an on-court presence at the competitions, where its branding will be displayed on the free-throw line circles.
Kia will be the official car provider at the two events as well as at the official draw ceremony for the Asia Championship on Saturday in Changsha. The partnership also includes the promotion of DYK (Dongfeng Yueda Kia), a joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Corporation, Kia Motors and Yueda.
Kia’s involvement in basketball also includes a multi-year partnership with North America’s NBA.
