The International Tennis Federation has partnered with sports and betting-related services company Sportradar to launch a new live-streaming platform for its Davis Cup and Fed Cup national team tournaments.
The platform has been launched ahead of the Davis Cup World Group semi-finals and play-off ties, which will be held from September 15-17.
International sports broadcaster beIN Sports, the ITF’s global media rights partner, has released the streaming rights for the two tournaments to enable the platform to go live.
Sportradar’s OTT solution will be used to produce and deliver live and on-demand coverage of the men’s Davis Cup via video.daviscup.com. Fans will be able to purchase individual ties, a whole round of ties, or an annual package covering all rounds of the competition.
The ITF and Sportradar have also collaborated on a desktop live scoring centre and a new mobile application for the Davis Cup that will feature more in-depth statistics across all ties.
The live streaming platform, live scoring centre and app will be made available for the women’s Fed Cup in the coming weeks. The streaming platform will be available for the Fed Cup final between Belarus and the United States in November.
The initiative builds on an existing relationship between the ITF and Sportradar, with the latter having provided the organisation with data and content from a range of tournaments.
This weekend's Davis Cup semi-finals see Belgium host Australia and Serbia travel to France.
