Indian OTT service swoops for super-fight rights

Indian digital media company Veqta has acquired rights for the upcoming bout between boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor.

Veqta's coverage will be available via its digital platform and its Android and IOS applications.

According to the Economic Times newspaper, the fight will be the first major sporting event to be pushed primarily through OTT in India.

The fight will take place in Las Vegas this Saturday night, with the contest being shown in India on Sunday morning at about 9am local time.

The undercard will also be available via Veqta from 6.30am in India.
