IAAF revises guidelines for Russian athletes

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has issued new guidelines for Russian athletes seeking to compete in a neutral capacity while their country remains banned from track and field events, widening the pool of contenders to those who have undergone thorough testing in their home nation.

In a statement issued yesterday (Tuesday), the IAAF said it is currently assessing evidence and intelligence relating to around 200 Russian athletes gathered by World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) investigator Richard McLaren.
