Hockey Canada has signed a new four-year partnership with fast-food restaurant chain Tim Hortons.

As part of the agreement, the chain will title sponsor Hockey Canada’s Initiation Program, which will become the Tim Hortons Timbits Hockey Canada Initiation Program.

Hockey Canada said the new partnership marks the “natural next step” in Tim Hortons’ long-standing relationship with Canadian ice hockey.

Tim Hortons will also support Canada’s national teams as part of the deal. As an international partner, the chain will also work with Hockey Canada to enhance the fan and volunteer experience through promotions and products at national championships, along with major events such as the IIHF World Junior Championship and IIHF Women’s World Championship.

Hockey Canada’s Initiation Program marks the official entry level for ice hockey in the country. The program was developed more than 35 years ago and is designed for players aged five and six years old.
