HBA steps up preparations for racing showpieces

Horse racing media consultancy HBA Media has established aligned teams in the US and Australia as it prepares to provide international broadcasters with coverage of showpiece events the Breeders’ Cup and the Lexus Melbourne Cup.

For the third year running, HBA will distribute and secure an international audience for the two events, which will take place on November 3 and 6 at Churchill Downs and Flemington Racecourse, respectively.

The two races, which are the pinnacle of the flat racing calendar, will be distributed by HBA to a host of broadcasters alongside a dedicated one-hour programme titled International Classic Hour.

Will Oscroft, HBA Media managing director, said: “This year, we have aligned teams working in both countries to ensure the highest quality production, content and coverage for both International Classic Hour (ICH) shows. These live or on-demand programmes, which are designed to appeal to an extended international racing fanbase, are available for multi-platform usage.”
