Gwangju Universiade toasts new drinks sponsor

Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co. has signed up as a sponsor of the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade multi-sport event.

Lotte Chilsung will provide water and other beverages for all participating athletes, referees, judges and volunteers during the event in South Korea.

The drinks company will activate the sponsorship through in-venue, television and online advertising campaigns.

“As the Universiade is the only multi-sports event with the participation of global university students, it is expected that Lotte Chilsung will also be able to grow into a global brand through this sponsorship,” Gwangju 2015 chairman Yoon Jang-hyun said.

The event, which will feature 20,000 university athletes from 170 countries worldwide from July 3-14 next year, is operated by Fisu, the international university sports federation.
