GoDaddy adds more events to ITTF partnership

US web-hosting company GoDaddy has expanded its partnership with the International Table Tennis Federation to sponsor 12 events in 2018.

GoDaddy partnered with five events on the 2017 ITTF World Tour, and also sponsored the Women’s World Cup and World Tour Grand Finals in 2016.

The company will this year serve as a major sponsor and daily review sponsor for the ITTF’s digital platforms for nine World Tour events and three World Cup tournaments.

The two regular World Tour events covered by the agreement are the Hong Kong Open and the Japan Open. Platinum World Tour events include the Qatar Open, German Open, China Open, Korea Open, Australia Open and Austrian Open. The deal also covers the season-ending World Tour Grand Finals, the host of which has yet to be announced.

GoDaddy will also sponsor the Team World Cup in London, along with the Women’s World Cup in the Chinese city of Chengdu and the men’s World Cup in Paris, France.

ITTF president Thomas Weikert said: “We are pleased to expand our sponsorship agreement with GoDaddy for this year, and the opportunity to work together on more events. Table Tennis has an increasingly strong presence around the world and the broad exposure can help global brands such as GoDaddy achieve their sponsorship goals.”

Roger Chen, vice-president in the Asia-Pacific region for GoDaddy, added: “Extending our sponsorship to 12 events this year, gives us the opportunity to raise global awareness about GoDaddy and the value we provide in helping people create a powerful online presence for their venture.”

The partnership was brokered by the Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment agency.
