Fresh ATP deal bolsters ESPN’s tennis portfolio in Latin America

International sports broadcaster ESPN has enhanced its tennis coverage in Latin America and the Caribbean by agreeing a new rights deal with men’s tour the ATP.

ESPN already holds rights in the region to the ATP Finals and World Tour Masters 1000 series, but has now reached a multi-year deal with the ATP and its ATP Media division for the 13 tournaments under the World Tour 500 banner.

ESPN’s rights include exclusivity for pay-television, while it will share digital rights in Spanish-speaking Latin America and the Caribbean with the ATP.

The new agreement commences with the first World Tour 500 event of the 2018 season. The Rotterdam Open opened yesterday (Monday) and runs through to February 18.

ESPN’s live streaming and VOD platform, ESPN Play, will serve as the main home of the coverage, with the latter stages of tournaments also receiving exposure via its television channels.
