French Basketball Federation switches from Adidas to Nike

The French Basketball Federation (FFBB) has agreed a kit deal with US sportswear company Nike.

Under the agreement, Nike’s Jordan Brand will serve as the official kit supplier of France’s men’s, women’s, 3×3 and youth teams.

The length of the deal was not disclosed but it is effective from the 2017-18 season onwards. Nike replaces German sportswear brand Adidas as the FFBB’s kit supplier.

FFBB president Jean-Pierre Siutat said: “The announcement of this agreement with Jordan Brand is an important step in the development of the FFBB and the French teams. This partnership is part of a long-term approach of the FFBB serving basketball and French basketball players.

“It rewards the positive image of the French federation and its know-how in training and talent development – know-how recognised internationally. The association with Jordan Brand, a symbol of quality and excellence in basketball, should allow us to showcase French basketball in France and abroad and continue its progression in the coming years until the Olympics in Paris in 2024 and beyond.”

France’s men’s team is currently ranked fourth in the world, with the women No.3 in the world rankings.
