French public-service broadcaster France Televisions has finalised a rights deal for coverage of rugby union’s new European club tournaments.
France Televisions has acquired rights for one match per round, from the group stages through to the finals, of the European Rugby Champions Cup and European Rugby Challenge Cup tournaments.
The rights will cover the next four seasons, from 2014-15 to 2017-18.
France 2 will show coverage of the Champions Cup, while France 4 will show matches from the Challenge Cup.
Last month, pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports acquired rights in France for coverage of both tournaments.
