Fox Sports extends rights to CEV Champions League in Italy

Pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports has agreed a two-season extension to its rights deal in Italy for the Champions League club competitions operated by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV).

Under the deal, Fox Sports will exclusively broadcast the women’s and men’s Champions League in Italy across the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.

Fox Sports will televise all games featuring Italian clubs, as well as the Playoff 6 and Final Four.

Italy is a powerhouse in European volleyball. Imoco Volley Conegliano lost in last season’s women’s final, while Pomì Casalmaggiore won the 2015-16 competition.

SIR Sicoma Colussi Perugia and Trentino Diatec have lost in the past two men’s finals to Russia’s Zenit Kazan, the three-time consecutive champion.
