FIM Endurance World Championship signs Italian rights deal

The International Motorcycling Federation’s (FIM) Endurance World Championship has agreed a rights deal with Italian motorcycle racing website Corsedimoto.com.

The three-year agreement will allow fans to watch the series either through the website itself, or via Corsedimoto.com’s partner, AutomotoTV, a dedicated motorsports channel that is included in the package offered by pay-television broadcaster Sky Italia.

AutomotoTV will broadcast 40 hours of programming this year, including race highlights, an ‘All Access’ segment and a special feature devoted to Italian teams and riders. Corsedimoto.com will produce five-minute race analysis videos.

Corsedimoto.com is a partner of Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. It agreed the EWC rights deal with the series’ promoter, Eurosport Events.

François Ribeiro, head of Eurosport Events, said: “The broadcast agreement with Corsedimoto.com and AutomotoTV will round off Eurosport’s own broadcasts to give fans comprehensive championship coverage. It’s good news that specialised media outlets like Corsedimoto.com/AutomotoTV are helping Eurosport Events to promote the EWC in a major market like Italy.”
