Eurosport retains MotoGP rights in Netherlands and Flanders

Sports broadcaster Eurosport has retained its rights to MotoGP in the Netherlands and Flanders from 2019, after losing out in France earlier this month.

The new deal will run from 2019 to 2021 and was agreed with Dorna Sports – the commercial rights-holder and organiser of MotoGP. It will also cover Moto2 and Moto3.

Eurosport currently holds MotoGP rights in both the Netherlands and Flanders – the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium – in a three-year deal from 2016 to 2018. Public-service broadcaster NOS acquired non-exclusive rights to the Dutch TT over the same three-year period.

Earlier this month, pay-television broadcaster Canal Plus announced it had picked up MotoGP rights in France from 2019 – rights currently held by Eurosport.

Eurosport hold rights across other European markets including Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Romania.
