Etihad links up with Commonwealth Games England

Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad Airways has agreed a new partnership with Commonwealth Games England.

The deal will cover the 2018 edition of the Commonwealth Games multi-sport event, which will take place from April 4-15 in Gold Coast, Australia.

Etihad has become the preferred airline of Commonwealth Games England and will transport more than 650 athletes from the England team to the Games.

Paul Blanchard, chief executive of Commonwealth Games England, said: “Etihad’s support shows that there is a real appetite amongst the most prestigious companies in the country to get behind England at the Commonwealth Games.

“With the potential of hosting the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham as well as the Gold Coast Games just months away, this is a really exciting time to be involved with Commonwealth Games England and our athletes.”
