Esurance strikes MiLB deal to complement MLB partnership

Automotive and motorcycle insurance company Esurance has entered into a multi-year partnership with North America’s Minor League Baseball.

The deal names Esurance the exclusive home and auto insurance partner of MiLB. The agreement makes the company the only brand to currently partner with both MiLB and Major League Baseball.

The partnership will see the launch of a new Esurance Call-Up Worthy platform, which will be made available on MiLB.com and via each MiLB club’s website. The platform will be used to profile players that receive call-ups to MLB and will incorporate digital and social media content.

MiLB players will serve as Esurance brand ambassadors, while the Esurance Rising Star Students and Esurance September Call-Ups programmes will be implemented as part of Esurance Call-Up Worthy. Esurance will also title sponsor the Home Field Advantage award, which is given to the MiLB club with the highest percentage capacity in each of its 14 leagues.

As well as its partnership with the league itself, Esurance will team up with a range of MiLB clubs.

“As Minor League Baseball continues to look forward and create unique platforms, a partnership with Esurance gives us yet another opportunity to connect with our millions of fans in a modern way,” David Wright, chief marketing and commercial officer for Minor League Baseball, said. “Every player that progresses on his path through Minor League Baseball has a unique story, one that we look forward to telling through this partnership.”

Esurance was named the exclusive auto insurance partner of MLB in April 2015 as part of a multi-year deal.
