ESPN+ picks up more football content

ESPN+ has added more football to its portfolio by picking up rights in the US to the Danish Superliga, Indian Super League and Swedish Allsvenskan from the IMG agency.

The deals will add seven matches per week to ESPN+: five from the ISL, and one from both the Superliga and Allsvenskan.

This follows on from last month’s three-season deal for rights to both Italian cup competitions, the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana. ESPN also holds rights to Italy’s Serie A, the English FA Cup, Dutch Eredivisie, Australian A-League and Chinese Super League in the same three-season cycle.

IMG holds international rights to the Superliga and Allsvenskan, excluding Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Its ISL international rights deal excludes countries in the Indian subcontinent.
