International sports broadcasters ESPN and Fox Sports have retained pay-television rights for the Uefa Champions League and Europa League European club football tournaments in Spanish-speaking Latin America.
The three-year agreements, which also include some territories in the Caribbean, will run from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
ESPN and Fox Sports will divide the matches equally from the two competitions as well as the Uefa Super Cup, the annual early-season match between the winners of the previous campaign’s Champions League and Europa League.
In the Champions League, ESPN said that it would show a total of 76 matches per season, including 70 matches on an exclusive basis from the play-offs, group stage and knockout rounds. ESPN and Fox will share the semi-finals and the final.
ESPN added that it would show a total of 102 Europa League matches on an exclusive basis per season, with the final again being shared with Fox.
The rights cover all media platforms and include highlights and magazine shows.
The deal was brokered by the Team Marketing agency on behalf of Uefa, football’s European governing body.
