ESPN extends rights deal with USL

US sports broadcaster ESPN has extended a rights deal with North America’s United Soccer League for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

ESPN will broadcast a minimum of six regular-season matches and the 2018 USL Cup on its linear networks.

ESPN will continue with its ‘USL Game of the Week’ feature on ESPN3 and also make regular-season games available through its new ESPN Plus OTT service, which is due to launch on April 12.

Prior to this launch, USL regular-season matches will be accessible via the official ESPN channel on video-sharing website YouTube.
