ERT retains its wide-ranging domestic sport coverage

Greek public-service broadcaster ERT will continue to broadcast the top-tier leagues of domestic basketball, volleyball, handball and water polo, along with the second-tier Football League.

Its deal for the Greek Basket League – excluding Panathinaikos, Olympiacos and AEK Athens home games – will run for the next two seasons, covering 2018-19 and 2019-20. Deals for the Football League, Greek Volleyball League, Greek Handball Championship, and Greek Water Polo League are thought to only run for the 2018-19 season.

ERT’s previous deal for the Football League covered two seasons, 2016-17 and 2017-18. It held all other league rights in 2017-18.

ERT took over Greek Basket League rights from pay-television Nova in the 2017-18 season. Pay-television broadcaster Cosmote currently holds rights to the home games of Panathinaikos, Olympiacos and AEK.
