International sports broadcaster Eleven Sports has launched Eleven Prime, a new channel that will be hosted by social video platform Twitch.
Eleven Prime will operate 24/7 on Twitch, and will feature coverage of sports such as basketball, baseball, football and ice hockey, as well as darts and drone racing action.
All content will be viewable in the US, with select events to be made available to Twitch users globally. Fans will also be given the chance to subscribe to the channel for an enhanced viewing experience, including ad-free displays and other features.
Anthony Bailey, senior vice-president and managing director for Eleven Sport in the US, said: “This partnership expands our presence in the US and through our collaborative approach with Twitch, we are challenging the status quo on how sports are delivered, discovered, and packaged. We are focused on reaching audiences everywhere and ensuring that fans can interact socially around our content.”
