International media and entertainment company Discovery Communications has appointed TS Panesar as the head of its recently-launched Indian pay-television broadcaster, DSport.
Panesar most recently served as chief executive of the video arm of digital cable operator Hathway Digital, and previously worked for pay-television broadcaster Star India.
DSport launched in February and has since acquired rights for properties such as golf majors the US Open and The Open, North America’s Major League Soccer and the ESL India Premiership esports competition.
It is also broadcasting the Audi Cup pre-season football tournament, which got underway yesterday (Tuesday) and concludes today.
