Deutsche Telekom opens up to combat sport coverage

The television service operated by German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom has moved into combat sports coverage through a partnership with 7Sports, the sports business division of media group ProSiebenSat.1.

Under the deal, Telekom Sport will offer 7Sports’ ‘Fighting’ package, which includes live events and video-on-demand content across the likes of boxing, kickboxing, mixed martial arts and wrestling.

Telekom Sport subscribers will also have access to fights from the World Boxing Super Series and events from MMA promotion the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The UFC’s top events will also be available through 48-hour subscription packages. Deutsche Telekom added that its EntertainTV customers will also have access to a linear 24/7 martial arts channel.

Customers who take broadband internet from Deutsche Telekom can get the Fighting channel free for an initial 12 months. The package will be available for €9.95 ($11.50) per month for non-subscribers.
