Crédit Agricole backs 2019 Women’s World Cup in France

French banking group Crédit Agricole has signed as the third National Supporter of the Women’s World Cup 2019, hosted by France.

It joins French specialty chemicals company Arkema and French state-owned railway SNCF on the National Supporter roster.

Under the deal, Crédit Agricole will benefit from extensive brand exposure before and during the Women’s World Cup, bespoke ticketing and hospitality packages and use of selected Fifa marks and footage.

Crédit Agricole claims to be among the world’s top ten banks and the market leader in cooperative and mutual banking in France. It has been a sponsor of the French Football Federation (FFF) for more than 40 years.

Commenting on the deal, Bertrand Corbeau, the deputy managing director of Crédit Agricole, said:  This competition will once again demonstrate that football plays a significant role in building a more cohesive society and championing diversity and equality, values that Crédit Agricole hold dear and that we promote across our territories through our Sport as a School for Life campaign.”

Noël Le Graët, president of the FFF and local organising committee, said that the brand’s “ongoing commitment to the development of women’s football and close ties with the local public will significantly contribute to the success of this competition”.

The Women’s World Cup takes place in nine cities across France next summer, from 7 June to 7 July.
