Combate Americas hires former NBCU exec as president

Combate Americas, the mixed martial arts sports and multimedia entertainment company targeting Hispanics, has appointed media industry veteran Jacqueline Hernandez as its president.

Hernandez (pictured), working in tandem with the organisation’s founder and chief executive, Campbell McLaren, will oversee the entire business apparatus of Combate Americas.

She will be responsible for driving the company’s continued global expansion, expanding multi-platform distribution channels and geographic regions for the company’s growth plan, negotiating media rights and developing a world-class MMA business and brand name.

Hernandez has previously served as chief marketing officer of the Hispanic Enterprises division of US media company NBCUniversal, as well as chief operating officer of Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo Enterprises.

Most recently, Hernandez was president and founder of the strategic consulting firm, M²Z Group, where she took on Combate Americas as her first client.

“Jackie is well-positioned to take Combate Americas into a rapidly changing media landscape,” McLaren said. “She is the undisputed champion of Hispanic millennials and Gen- Z marketing. Her leadership skills are world-class.”
