Cimed extends backing of Brazilian Football Confederation

Brazilian pharmaceuticals company Cimed has renewed its sponsorship of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).

The new four-year deal runs from 2020 to 2023 and has been signed ahead of this year’s Fifa World Cup in Russia, where Brazil has been drawn alongside Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia in Group E.

The agreement will cover the 2020 summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, as well as the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Brazil coach Tite (pictured) is also a Cimed brand ambassador.

Cimed has served as a main partner of the CBF since 2016. The two parties’ previous agreement had been due to expire in December 2019.

“Our group invests heavily in the sport because we believe in the ability to generate new talent for Brazil, in addition to strengthening our brand that is full of victorious stories linked to passion and dedication,” president of the Cimed Group, João Adibe, said.

Brazil is one of the favourites for this year’s World Cup, which kicks off in Moscow on Thursday and runs until July 15.
