Channel 4 hits the bullseye with World Darts Championship

UK commercial broadcaster Channel 4 has struck a domestic rights deal for the World Darts Championship.

Channel 4 has agreed a two-year deal with the British Darts Organisation, from 2017 to 2018.

Channel 4 will broadcast live coverage from the event during the afternoon sessions of the men’s and women’s championships, in addition to one of the semi-finals and the men’s and women’s final.

All evening sessions will be shown on pay-television broadcaster BT Sport, as well as one the of semi-finals and the men’s final.

Channel 4 has dislodged public-service broadcaster the BBC as the free-to-air home of the tournament.
