The Principal Financial Group has extended its title sponsorship agreement with golf’s Champions Tour for the Principal Charity Classic event.
The renewal is for three years, covering the 2016, 2017 and 2018 editions of the tournament at Wakonda Club in Des Moines, Iowa.
“We’re delighted to continue our relationship with the Principal Financial Group, a tremendous partner of ours over the last nine years,” Champions Tour president Greg McLaughlin said.
“Thanks to their commitment, the great community support and the charitable impact in central Iowa, the Principal Charity Classic exemplifies the model Champions Tour event.”
The 2016 Principal Charity Classic will take place at Wakonda Club on May 30 to June 5, with 1989 Open Championship winner Mark Calcavecchia (pictured) set to defend his title.
