Champions Hockey League banks new partner

Private banking and asset management group LGT has agreed a deal to sponsor ice hockey’s pan-European club competition the Champions Hockey League.

The two-year deal names LGT, which is headquartered in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, as an official partner and the official private bank of the CHL for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.

As part of the contract, LGT’s logo will feature on the back of the jersey worn by the top scorer of each team.

LGT will also benefit from brand exposure through in-arena advertising across all 13 participating CHL countries, as well as logo placement in the backdrop of interviews, promotion across the league’s digital assets and hospitality packages.

A country-specific advertising spot will also be featured on the video screens before and after each game, and during breaks.

The deal was negotiated by the Infront Sports & Media agency, the CHL’s exclusive media and marketing partner.

Thomas Piske, chief executive of LGT Private Banking, said: “We are very pleased to support this young and growing sports platform. It is a competition that aligns very well with our values – performance, precision and good teamwork are important both in sports and in managing our clients' assets. Given this fit, we are particularly proud to support the Top Scorer concept, which rewards outstanding achievements.”

The 2017-18 CHL season got underway in August and runs until February.
