California tech firms splurge on LA Chargers, SF Giants

Californian sports franchises continue to profit from sponsorship spending by the state’s cash-rich IT and telco brands.

Last week, Los Angeles-based telco ROKiT signed a multi-year naming-rights deal for the ROKiT Field at StubHub Center, the home ground of the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers.

StubHub Center is the temporary home of the Chargers until the completion of the Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park in 2020.

Also last week, Redwood City-based Informatica, an enterprise cloud data management brand, entered into an agreement with the San Francisco Giants baseball team for the 2018 season.

The first-time partnership will celebrate Informatica’s 25-year anniversary with branding and data presentations inside the Giant’s AT&T Park.
