Boise State extends Nike deal

The athletics department of Boise State University has signed a six-year extension to its partnership with US sportswear company Nike.

Boise State's director of athletics, Curt Apsey, confirmed that the new deal will be worth an average of more than $2m (€1.7m) per year.

The deal runs until the end of the 2024-25 season and is worth almost double what Boise State receives under the terms of its current agreement with Nike, which expires next summer. The new $12.6m deal includes cash compensation and product for the university's 20 varsity programs.

Nike provides the university with athletic footwear, apparel and equipment. The two parties first teamed up in 2003, when Nike began supporting Boise State's American football program. The agreement expanded to include all sports in 2011.
