Big Ten Network signs FloSports partnership

The Big Ten Network, a joint venture between US college sport organisation the Big Ten Conference and the Fox Entertainment Group division of US media company 21st Century Fox, has agreed a distribution partnership with sports streaming specialist FloSports.

The four-year agreement covers distribution rights to more than 1,000 non-televised Big Ten events.

The events were previously exclusive to BTN Plus subscribers but will now be available through FloSports’ subscription channels, such as FloWrestling, FloTrack and FloVolleyball.

Content will include sport-specific live streams, documentaries, breaking news and other features.

Michael Calderon, senior vice-president of programming and digital media at BTN, said: “BTN continuously explores opportunities to distribute Big Ten content across emerging third-party platforms.

“FloSports has cultivated a passionate and widespread audience and we are looking forward generating a significant increase in exposure for the more than 1,000 Big Ten events that had previously only been available in BTN Plus.”
